The cost of moving from Vancouver to Vancouver Island starts at about $2,900 and depends mainly on the size of your home:
- 1 to 2-bedroom condos: $2,900 to $3,600
- 3 to 4-bedroom homes: $4,000 to $5,500
The biggest reason for the gap is time. A 1 or 2-bedroom move can usually be finished in a single day. We take an early ferry to the Island, unload and head back the same day. Larger homes usually can’t be done in one day, so our crew stays overnight, finishes the job the next morning and then returns.
Ferry fares are the other major cost. A moving truck counts as a commercial vehicle, and BC Ferries charges commercial vehicles a higher fare than regular passenger vehicles.
